Kelly Hinkle
Board Member - Assistant Director | Wilmington Water Utility
Kelly has worked for the City of Wilmington for over 15 years, and before becoming Assistant Director of the Wilmington Water Utility, she spent time in customer service, purchasing, and as a Project Manager for the Department of Public Works. During her time with the Water Utility, Kelly has been integral in the execution of several projects, including a system-wide meter replacement program, the lead inventory efforts, the cross connection and backflow control program, and most recently has been the lead on the project that will move the City to AMI. Having earned a degree in English, Kelly never intended to become a water professional but during her time with the utility she’s developed a great love for the work and a real curiosity about technologies that can move the industry forward. Outside of work, Kelly enjoys traveling, spending time outdoors, and is a big ice hockey fan.
