DTECH 2023: Driving the Digital Transformation with Intelligent Connectivity

January 31, 2023

With the right IIoT platform, there's no limit to what cities and utilities can achieve. At DISTRIBUTECH 2023, Feb. 7-9, 2023 in San Diego, CA, we look forward to sharing how utilities and cities across the globe can unlock the full potential of the Industrial Internet of Things ( IIoT ) to create more modern, efficient and safe cities.

Utilities and cities across the globe have spent decades building out AMR and AMI networks to meet growing consumer demand for energy and water. As modern challenges continue to arise, such as an accelerating number of renewables on the grid, increasing natural disasters, water scarcity and more, many are now asking – what's the next step?

At DTECH, attendees will learn how we apply intelligent connectivity to unlock the potential of IIoT with next-generation AMI. Rather than a one-size-fits-all approach, we use our flexible platform to match the right communications technology to optimize performance, security and cost – supporting the use cases utilities and cities care about most. As needs evolve, our globally proven, multi-purpose platform is designed to support more complex utility and city use cases like DER integration, real-time distribution automation, dynamic streetlight control and consumer engagement over time. A diverse range of transport technologies like cellular, RF Mesh, Wi-Fi, power line carrier (PLC) and more can be seamlessly integrated within an Itron IIoT network canopy to support multiple use cases.

Given the diversity of requirements cities and utilities need to address the evolving needs of their communities, a single network technology is simply not a good investment for longevity. That's why Itron's IIoT network canopy leverages multiple communications options on a secure, standards-based network. It also enables distributed intelligence  for peer-to-peer device and application coordination at the edge and ensures service reliability with a highly resilient, high performing network. All of these benefits will be unpacked at this year's DISTRIBUTECH.

As Itron continues to develop our connectivity options for utility and city use cases, we are proud to expand our involvement with the Utility Broadband Alliance (UBBA), which is a collaboration of utilities and ecosystem partners dedicated to championing the advancement and development of private broadband networks for America's critical infrastructure industries. Itron recently attended and sponsored the UBBA's second annual Summit and Plugfest focused on Private Wireless Networks, where utilities, technology partners and vendors from around the world share d honest feedback about existing and future private wireless network deployments and requirements related to supporting the future grid.

Learn more about the UBBA's current priorities, exclusive insights from Plugfest and Itron's involvement in Booth 5633.

Connect With Itron at DISTRIBUTECH

We can't wait to connect with our customers, partners and energy industry leaders at DISTRIBUTECH 2023. Attendees are invited to vi sit us in booth 2514 and experience what's possible from Itron's proven portfolio of intelligent devices, smart, foundational networks, and software and services that deliver the right outcomes for utilities and cities. We also have several speaking engagements listed here where attendees can hear firsthand from Itron employees and customers how our solutions and services are driving transformation.
